The first electrified SUV from Alfa Romeo offers dynamic handling, sportiness typical of the brand, and an efficient hybrid drive for the first time. In addition, modern technology makes the compact SUV the most connected Alfa Romeo ever. Its newly developed infotainment system enables online software updates ("Over The Air") and has integrated the Amazon Alexa language assistant.
The new Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV is available in the standard equipment versions SUPER and SPRINT. Their hybrid drive combines a four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which generates 96 kW (130 hp) from a displacement of 1.5 liters, with an electric motor. The 48-volt unit is positioned in what is known as the P2 configuration between the combustion engine and the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The electric motor has an output of 15 kW (corresponding to 20 kW). Its nominal torque of 55 Newton meters increases to 135 Nm due to the transmission ratio (2.5:1).
In addition, the variants Alfa Romeo Tonale Ti and Alfa Romeo Tonale VELOCE are offered. They offer 118 kW (160 hp), a turbocharger with variable geometry, and similar electric motor technology and transmission as the SUPER and SPRINT model versions.
